Intuit recently announced service discontinuation for QuickBooks Desktop 2022. Below is additional information regarding the discontinuation and how it may affect you as a current user.
When will service discontinuation begin (and the products affected)?
After May 31, 2025, the following products will be affected:
- QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022
- QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus 2022 (General Business, Contractor, Manufacturing & Wholesale, Nonprofit, Professional Services, and Retail)
- QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 22.0
- QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition Plus 2022
- QuickBooks Enterprise Accountant 22.0
- QuickBooks Desktop for Mac Plus 2022
What does this service discontinuation entail?
Your access to the following will be discontinued for the above products as of May 31, 2025:
- QuickBooks Desktop Payroll and Desktop Payment
- Live Technical Support
- Online Backup
- Online Banking
- Other services offered through QuickBooks Desktop 2022 software
What are my upgrade options?
Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Enterprise subscribers are entitled to version 2024 at no additional cost. However, Intuit encourages subscribers to move to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or QuickBooks Online.

How does this affect me as a client of KWC?
After May 31, 2025, any client files received that are utilizing one of the discontinued versions of the QuickBooks software will be upgraded to the newest version of QuickBooks. This does not impact your ability to continue using your local software, however it will prevent KWC from returning an Accountant’s Copy to you with changes. As a result, for those impacted we will provide adjusting entries for you to make on your local file.
