Tax Manager – Richmond office

We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager for our Richmond, Virginia office. The Tax Manager will provide tax preparation and review services for a variety of clients including individuals, businesses (including S-corporations, C-corporations and partnerships), as well as estates and trusts. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to serve privately held businesses and their owners with their tax and financial needs. The successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of working directly with firm principals and business owners. An ability to communicate clearly on complex matters both orally and in writing is very important.

Job Duties:
• Lead and manage the client relationship with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to clients
• Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting, etc.
• Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach
• Manage client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance
• Train and develop staff members
• Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law

Qualifications:
• CPA license
• 6-8+ years of public accounting
• Richmond area candidate preferred
•Experience with privately held small to mid-market businesses and their owner’s tax/ financial needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Project management and critical thinking skills

Experienced Staff Auditor – Alexandria office

As a member of KWC’s audit team, the staff auditor assists in planning and performing audits of nonprofit organizations, government contractors, and construction companies. Your duties will include preparation of audit workpapers, financial statements, and tax returns. You’ll work closely with a close-knit group of fellow auditors who enjoy sharing knowledge and pooling resources to complete projects. A typical day might include the following:

• Set up and preparation of audit files in CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement

• Perform audit testing/fieldwork on-site at client facilities as instructed by the engagement in-charge, with goal towards ability to work independently on future engagements

• Assist with wrap-up after audit fieldwork to include finalizing workpapers and checklists using PPC Smart Audit

• Preparation of draft financial statements and related audit documents, with goal to move towards review after establishing proficiency

• Preparation of tax returns for audit clients in CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax, with goal to move towards review after establishing proficiency

• Train and develop other staff members

• Attending CPE to remain up-to-date on changes in GAAP and tax laws

Seasonal Tax Preparers – Alexandria office

We are looking for high-caliber experienced seasonal tax preparers and reviewers for complicated individual and business income tax returns in our Alexandria, Virginia office. ProSystems Tax and trial balance experience is required and experience in a paperless environment is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Our seasonal positions are for those who wish to primarily work from February to mid-April, although there may be an opportunity for additional hours outside of tax season. Bookkeepers – Richmond Office

We would like to expand our Richmond, Virginia office accounting team with professionals who would provide full-charge accounting services.

Responsibilities:

· Perform bookkeeping and payroll services for multiple clients
· Prepare sales tax returns for multiple clients
· Prepare 1099’s for clients
· Prepare accounting work papers, including trial balances, depreciation schedules, enter data from computer
applications, and prepare engagement correspondence
· Download accounting transactions for integration with multiple systems for accounting and reconciliation
· Perform other duties assigned by the firm’s professional staff

Qualifications

· High school diploma
· Associates’ degree in Business or Accounting preferred, but not required
· Recent public accounting experience preferred, but not required
· High degree of QuickBooks knowledge
